If you have always wanted to enjoy a day that follows nature's own rhythms and a place where life proceeds at an ever-satisfied, unhurried pace, travel to lovely Laama Atoll. Ride a bicycle along a shady, palm-fringed road, wave to locals as they go peacefully about daily business in their colourful homes, and enjoy endless fun in the clear and unsullied waters. Rimmed by stunning barrier reefs, Laamu Atoll is a true, undiscovered miracle. It is also a site of great mystery, as Buddhist ruins found on its islands suggest this may have been the first inhabited place in the Maldives.

Diving in Laamu Atoll—a bastion of pure nature—reminds you of childhood days filled with wonder and the pure joy of discovery. A secluded location ensures that Laamu Atoll will never be crowded. Only nine dive sites in the region have been officially located, but the ring of islands is rich with natural wonders, so the field is open for you to discover new sites where glorious colour and rich marine life showcase the simple beauty of life. Abundant parrotfish, sharks, and rays are known to inhabit the region, but its true draw is the drift diving available in many deep underwater passages.

Jacks, tuna, eagle rays, and white-tip reef sharks are known to frequent mysterious Fushi Kandu, a shallow channel dive. The giant table corals at Maamandhoo Giri shelter butterflyfish, while green sea turtles snack on the coral. A perfect night dive, the region seems to come alive under cover of darkness. Munnafushee Kandu is a drift dive that truly enchants as you swim along with rays, flying effortlessly. Sharks and large tuna enjoy hunting for large prey in the area as well, so enjoy the company of your fellow members of the top of the food chain as you go with the flow of the current.

Surfers find endless fun in Laamu Atoll, enjoying many fun right-hand point breaks along  with some left-breaking waves as well. Suitable for surfers at all levels, these waves are not extremely powerful, although barrels and long walls are sometimes found. If you are happy in shoulder-high surf, Laama Atoll will never let you down, providing a world of waves that challenge and mesmerise you all day long.

Exposure to the true, laid-back style of the Maldives is assured on Laamu Atoll, where all resorts are highly eco-conscious, structural designs are based upon traditional island dwellings, and cuisine is focussed upon the ultra-fresh seafood available in abundance. From the perfection of your luxury resort to the wildness of an underwater adventure, Laamu Atoll enchants and mesmerises at every turn.
