The Tahiti Islands

Author: admin  /  Category: Hotels, Luxury, Tahiti, Travel, Vacations

The Tahiti Islands are situated in the

South Pacific and they are comprised of  118 islands grouped into five archipelagos. The Society Islands is the most popular Tahitian archipelago. It consists of several tropical islands surrounded by lagoons: Tahiti, Moorea, Taha’a , Bora Bora, Huahine and Raiatea. The Tahiti Islands cover a wide range of natural attractions: ivory sandy beaches, dynamic marine life and clear water combined with the roughness of mountains and steeps. This combination of mountains, high waterfalls, clear beaches or deep valleys is nature’s surprising original display.

Tahiti, one of the largest isles in French Ploynesia. It is a famous world wide as a spectacular and exotic tourist destination. It is famous for its bungalows built above the water, Polynesian spas, diving, snorkeling, cruising and honeymoons. One can not ask for anything better than Tahiti as far as accommodation is concerned. Almost wherever rooms are located, the view is spectacular. Lodging options range from hotels to large or medium sized lagoon luxury resorts.

Tahitian food consists mostly of fresh fish and fruits. The most popular Tahitian restaurants are: Casablanca (it blends Tahitian and French cooking), The Mango Café (it offers art nouveau atmosphere), Jack Lobster, Le Cigalon or L’O a la Bouche. For those who wish to have more informal dinners, they can choose Vai’ete Square, a place where they can choose from a variety island desserts and cuisines hosted by food wagons called roulettes.

You can spend unique moments while snorkeling in the crystal waters around the island. But don’t stop here! With the help of an experienced diving instructor, which can be hired by choice, you can explore the magnificent coral reefs and sunken vessels of the deep. Island lagoons are perfect for canoeing and kayaking, while the deep sea provides marlin for fishing. For those looking for excitement, more dynamic activities are offered, such as jet skiing, water skiing or wind surfing.

Bora Bora is considered one of the most romantic islands in the world. The sweet smell of hibiscus covers its tropical valleys while the lagoons lay in the sun in an undisturbed quiet. Bungalows over the water and dramatic island scenery create an atmosphere of romance and intimacy which is perfect for any loving couple, especially newly-weds.

Guests are dazzled by the luxury and the special treatment they receive on the island. In the morning, they receive breakfast in the private balcony of their bungalow by means of a canoe regaled in flowers. Nothing beats starting your day by taking a refreshing swim right from your bungalow, followed by a walk on the white beach. Guests can also have a picnic on a private beach. In the evening, there’s nothing more pleasant than to admire the breath taking sunset while having a four course dinner aboard a private catamaran. Dinners are usually accompanied by live Polynesian music and groups of dancers. Tahiti combines two different cultures, the Ploynesian culture and the French culture, into one unique explosion of rhythm, color and luxury.

As far as activities are concerned, you can not travel to Bora Bora  and not go diving within its waters. Here, there is an abundance of marine life. Divers can run into creatures like the gigantic manta ray or the black-tip reef shark.

Another important island in the Society Islands is Moreea. Moreea is considered the magical island. Once you have visited this island you will remain forever under its exotic spell. The island is covered by majestic almost vertical mountain slopes, surrounded by shallow lagoons into which water from poetic waterfalls tumbles down. The island is inhabited; simple houses painted in pastel colors with flower gardens form small villages which circle the island.

The secluded beaches, lush valleys and luxury resorts make Moreea an ideal romantic destination. This is why many couples wanting to get married choose this Polynesian island for their wedding ceremonies. There are excellent restaurants all over the island, on the beach or near lagoons. They serve Tahitian, Chinese, French or Italian cuisine, in original combinations.

Many resorts are located on the east side of the island so that rooms may have views of Tahiti. Others are situated on the north side, towards the spectacular scenery of mountains and lagoons. Guests accommodated in resorts on the west side can enjoy a direct view of the tropical sun setting in the ocean.

After a romantic dinner, and a relaxing night, the following day asks for more dynamic activities. There are many types of water activities available. The most popular sites and activities on Moreea are: diving, tastings at the Fruit Juice Factory, visiting plantations, the Tiki Theatre Village and the Papetoai village, snorkeling, mountain explorations, lagoon explorations, parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking, deep sea fishing or shark feeding. You can not leave Moreea without swimming with the dolphins. You will fall in love with these wonderful friendly creatures waiting for you at the Moreea Dolphin Center.

Guests can take a safari through the hidden valleys and towards the mystical waterfalls. For those who prefer to go by foot, a guide is available for walking explorations through mountain passes. There is also the possibility to admire the island from above, from a helicopter. Those who miss a good day of shopping can find wonderful objects and souvenirs at the small boutiques or at the art galleries and workshops.

The Tahiti Islands are the ideal romantic destination. Many couples come to Tahiti for a special wedding ceremony, for their honeymoon or to renew their vows. The small villages, the infinite pristine beaches and the intimate luxury resorts make Tahiti one of the most sought for romantic destinations on Earth. For those looking for romantic voyages, cruises are organized every week for Tahiti’s isles, on yachts or luxurious cruise ships. Another thing worth mentioning is the Polynesian spas, which help guests experience deep relaxation, away from the noisy civilized world.

The Maldives

Author: admin  /  Category: Hotels, Luxury, Maldives, Travel, Vacations

The Maldives are an archipelago

in the Indian Ocean. They consist of over one thousand coral islands grouped into twenty-six coral atolls. Two hundred islands are inhabited. People from all over the world come to the Maldives looking to spend time in this unique place of an almost unreal beauty.

The main method to travel to the Maldives is by plane. Tourists arrive at the Male International Airport on the Hulhule Island.  In order to go from one island to the island visitors can take air taxis (sea planes), boats or private yachts. No island in the Maldives is more than forty-five minutes away from another, provided that the traveling is made by plane. Tourists who arrive at the Male airport at night have to spend the night in Male as boats and sea planes do not work during the night. Rather than spending the whole night at Male, you can choose private transfers, which are also available for resort transfers.

The beautiful islands in the Maldives create the ideal destination for a tropical holiday spent in luxury. The pure white sand, crystal clear water sparkling under the tropical sun and the picture-perfect lagoons in different shades of blue are as close as one can get to heaven on earth.

In terms of Maldivian culture, one of the most important places to visit is the National Museum. It is housed in one of the buildings of the Sultan’s Palace, in the Sultan’s Park. The building is three storey, built in a colonial style. Here there are numerous collections on display like sultan’s palanquins, thrones, umbrellas and ceremonial robes or a rifle used in the fight against the Portuguese in the 16th century, which  belonged to Mohamed Thakurufaanu.

The Maldivian cuisine is quite original and it revolves mostly around spicy fish dishes like: fried fish with chili and garlic (theluli mas), deep-fried fish rolls (keemia), barbequed fish, pastry balls stuffed with smoaked fish (gulha), breadfruit curry (bambukeylu hiti), spicy fish cake ( kulhi borkibaa) or pastry stuffed with coconut, fish and onions. The traditional breakfast in the Maldives is “mas huni”, which is basically smoked fish which has been shredded and then grated with onion and coconuts.

The Maldives is one of the best places to go whale watching and dolphin watching. This is the natural habitat for many different species of dolphins ( the Spinner Dolphin, the Rough-toothed dolphin, the Spotted  dolphin, the Bottlenose dolphin, Risso’s  dolphin or the Striped dolphin) and whales ( the Sperm Whale, the Blue Whale, the dwarf Sperm Whale or the Tropical Bottlenose Whale). Tourists can take a cruise on a safari boat and see all of these wonderful creatures.

The main attraction in the Maldives, from the point of view of recreational activities, is scuba diving. The underwater scenery around any island is breathtaking, assuring an experience impossible to forget. Scuba diving is very popular especially in areas with coral formations which have formed the Maldives’ 26 atolls. For example, there are the North Male Atoll and the South Male Atoll, in the region of Kaafu. Thulusdhoo is an island in the North Male Atoll which is famous for surf practicing. The North Male Atoll has the biggest number of resorts, making it the main tourism centre.

Another welcoming area is the Lhaviyani Atoll, which is the natural habitat for many species of exotic fish. On the northern reef of the Lhaviyani Atoll there is the Kuredu Island Resort. Here, travelers are accommodated in exotic bungalows or villas built on the white sandy beaches or on columns over the water, according to their choice. Nothing is more refreshing and exhilarating than waking up to the sound of soothing water which surrounds you in your bungalow, creating a feeling of intimacy and relaxation far from the roar and agitation of civilization. You can start your day by taking a refreshing swim right from your door, followed by a walk on the beach. Later during the day, you can have lunch in one of the many luxurious restaurants or have a traditional drink in a bar after the sun has set.

The Kuredu Island Resort is famous for organizing unforgettable and luxurious weddings and honeymoons. Married couples who wish to reaffirm their eternal love can renew their vowels right on the pure white sand of a Maldives island, in natural yet luxurious conditions. Newly-weds can celebrate the most important event in their lives on the Kuredu Island. The beautiful island scenery with azure lagoons, infinite beaches and majestic palm trees creates one of the most romantic places on earth. The marvelous sunsets bring the perfect, intimate atmosphere for love.

In Kuredu there is the largest centre of water sports in the Maldives. Activities range from parasailing, wind surfing, catamaran sailing, wakeboarding, banana and blast rides, canoeing and water ski. Speed boat excursions are organized for tourists who are interested in the natural surroundings and marine life of the Maldives. Kite surfing is the perfect activity for those looking for new thrills and excitement.

The South Ari Atoll also offers numerous attractions. Tourists can admire the spectacular sea life, swim around sharks or multi-colored species of fish. It is a wonderful place for photographing fish, especially if you dive around the corals in the atolls. The pristine South Ari Atoll beaches contrasting in color with the intense shades of blue of the lagoons are a blessing for the eyes.

Mauritius Island

Author: admin  /  Category: Hotels, Luxury, Mauritius, Travel, Vacations

Mauritius is an exotic island located 2400 km of the south east African Coast, in the Indian Ocean. The high mountains which cover the island, the tropical flora, the miles and miles of golden beaches and the clear turquoise lagoons blend together and make Mauritius one of the most breathtaking islands in the world. In addition, most of the island’s coast is surrounded by coral reefs full of fascinating creatures and underwater sceneries. It is the third largest coral reef in the world.

With its ivory beaches, mixed cuisine and luxury resorts, Mauritius is considered, by many, paradise on earth. It is one of the most beautiful islands to visit and honeymoons here are worth all the effort, as they will be memorable. The natural surroundings create a special atmosphere: high mountains, steamy waterfalls, sugarcane plantations and wide areas of rainforest. Curious newly wedded couples are sure to enjoy the rich wild life of the island. More than one hundred species of birds create never-before sounds which will definitely make a romantic walk under the stars more romantic.

Many couples come from all over the world, wanting to get married in Mauritius. It is the ideal place for those who search exotic islands with sandy beaches, warm crystal waters and great resort facilities. Every hotel in Mauritius offers honeymoon and wedding packages, along with assistance in organizing every detail of the once in a lifetime ceremony. The couple can have a small, private wedding or they can exchange vows in an original and spectacular way. Everything is up to them. The island provides numerous magical and secluded areas for a wedding to take place: on a sunny beach, in a beautiful valley or even in more daring places, like in the sky or under water.

Many choose to spend their honeymoon here. After all the excitement and agitation before and during the wedding, there’s nothing better than a relaxing and calming trip to an exotic island. Lying on the beach, swimming in a secluded lagoon or having romantic walks under the moon, these are all the things a couple of newly-weds dream of. The underwater scenery around the island is spectacular, assuring moments you will remember long after you have left. Luxury is the word for Mauritian accommodations: high-class hotels like Le Canonnier or Paradis Hotel await guests who long for private, secluded beaches. Dinarobin the most luxurious international resort on the island, as it is a five star hotel situated at the foot of  Le Morne Mountain. It has spacious suites, an original architecture, an 18 hole golf course and access to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. In Mauritius, couples can have romantic voyages around the island or can enjoy a romantic dinner cruise. They can be sure that from the moment they enter hotels in Mauritius, they will be pampered with high-class facilities.

Mauritius is a great destination for relaxation. The miles and miles of smooth beaches offer a natural environment of peace and calm. But beaches are not the only oases of peace on the island. Guests who seek a special treatment should visit any of the spas on the island, such as the Royal Palm, Beau Rivage, The Residence, Dinarobin, One&Only Le Saint Geran or Sofitel Imperial. Nothing is more relaxing than to put yourself into the southing hands of experts who know how to tickle your senses.

You can start your day by taking a refreshing swim, followed by a walk on the beach. Later during the day, you can eat in one of the luxurious restaurants or have an exotic cocktail as the evening shade starts to fall. Those who like shopping can go to the Grand Bay area, a  more commercialized part of the island. Here they can go shopping then have lunch at one of the restaurants. Entertainment continues after the sun has set, in bars and discos. Inland destinations include the lake of Grand Bassin and the Black River Gorges national park. The Grand Bassin is a lake which has formed over the years, in the crater of an extinct volcano. One of the most popular activities in Mauritius is deep sea fishing, as there is a rich marine wildlife waiting to be discovered by first comers to the island: sharks of all types, the Bonitos, the barracuda, the blue marlin, the black marlin, the “emperor” or yellow tuna.

Because Mauritius is so rich in marine wildlife, the local traditional food is cooked mostly with fish. But don’t be fooled, this does not mean that all dishes taste more or less the same. Mauritian food consists of surprisingly mixed cuisine. It is a combination of Indian, Creole, Chinese and European food in a delicious manner. The local cooking is very daring and adventurous. On of the best restaurants on the island are Spoon des Iles.

The Sugar Beach is a fabulous resort, situated thirty-five km from Port Luis, the capital city of Mauritius, on the west coast of the island. It sums up 170 standard guest rooms in the Villas and the Manor House. Seven luxury villas are built very close to the beach so that guests can enjoy the best part of the local scenery. Sugar Beach Resort is  the ideal place to relax, but also to have fun. You can enjoy a quiet day having a walk along the splendid tropical gardens or you can do some water sports. Pure golden sand, crystal clear water sparkling under the tropical sun and the blue lagoons are as close as you can get to paradise.

Luxury Honeymoon Vacations

Author: admin  /  Category: Hotels, Luxury, Maldives, Mauritius, Tahiti, Travel, Vacations

Every couple has a different idea of paradise. Thinking about where to go and booking your honeymoon holiday is one of the most exciting things in organizing your wedding and the chance for a holiday of a lifetime. There are definitely a lot of places where you can take the trip of a lifetime, but here we have narrowed down your choices to three fabulous destinations for your perfect honeymoon, places that we think are extra special with the romantic diver in mind.
Honeymoon in Tahiti
The hotspot in the universe for romantic getaways, there is no better place to celebrate your new life with your spouse. Each of the many islands of Tahiti is an exquisite paradise. Intimate resorts, luxury hotels and miles of quiet pristine beaches say all about why Tahiti is ranked #1 in the top spots for honeymooners.
Nowhere in the world can you find the nature’s colors more vivid, the waters of the Pacific warmer, or the people friendlier. Honeymoon couples would be amazed to discover that Tahiti blends two very different cultures, its distinctive Polynesian culture, as well as its French spirit.
The locals speak French, restaurants serve French cuisine along with Polynesian specialties and hotels are offering the refinements of the best European accommodation facilities. Another great thing about spending your honeymoon in Tahiti is that of being surrounded by very warm and friendly people. The French Polynesians are very proud of their islands and eager to welcome visitors from all over the world and make them feel like home.
This unique mixture of tropical island culture and French exquisiteness makes a honeymoon in Tahiti so intriguing.
Honeymoon in Maldives
White sandy beaches sparkling in the sun alongside clear lagoons would be another dream place to spend your perfect honeymoon vacation. Maldives offers you all this and more for an idyllic romantic destination, inviting you on these wonderful islands, miles from civilization that will definitely make those precious days last forever and ever and ever.

The Maldives is also famous for the breathtaking natural beauty of its underwater scenery. The abundance of overwhelmingly vibrant colors and variety of underwater life has fascinated divers and snorkellers ever since Maldives was established as a diving destination. The highest level of visibility that you could expect sometimes more than 50m and warm temperatures all year long makes water activities in the Maldives a delight you would want to experience over and over again.

The Maldives offers exquisite luxury hotels and resorts that could turn your trip here into a dream honeymoon vacation. It is often hard to draw a comparison between Maldives and other luxury destinations because Maldivian resorts have established and maintained a class of their own that defines the perfect example of luxury and pure pleasure.

Whichever resort you choose in the Maldives, each resort island has its own magic, enchantment and ambience that words cannot do to describe and can only be appreciated through your own personal experience.
Honeymoon in Mauritius
This island paradise has sophisticated luxury hotels, stunning beaches, breathtaking scenery and exotic cuisine that combine all of its cosmopolitan cultures: French, British, Indian, Chinese and Creole. Mauritius is a perfect all year round destination, highly recommended for weddings and honeymoons at any time of the year.
Honeymoon in Mauritius can be an amazing experience cast ashore on a quivering tropical island in the Indian Ocean with endless white sandy beaches and about a hundred shades of blue in the seas. Anywhere you turn, the most spectacular scenery is surrounding you - miles of lush sugarcane plantations, mystical mountains, cascading waterfalls and rainforests margined by coniferous trees and casuarinas. Mauritius, once the only home of the now extinct bird dodo, has the most incredible wildlife, including some splendid colored birds that you can admire at the game parks.
Port Louis, the lively capital with its gorgeous waterfront and the neighboring town of Mahebourg are some great places to visit on your honeymoon in Mauritius and get into the spirit of this fascinating land, a medley of cultures, bustling traditions and festivals.
These are some of the most romantic and exquisite honeymoon destinations where you will get to experience a whole different culture, take in great sights, stay in luxury accommodation and also have a sense of adventure.

How do you get work at Travel Channel, National Geographic as a travel photographer? Or as anything?

Author: admin  /  Category: Travel

I want to work for travel channel, it must be my job to travel the world. Im studying film directing and taking photography courses. How and where do you think i should get a job that will allow me to travel?
Thanks a mil…

Photographers for National Geographic are at the top of their field. Don't expect to get an offer right out of photography school. Look for a job that pays the rent first. Having discouraged you, let me say that there is hope. I attended one of their seminars, which was an excellent orientation to the field. Here is the link to the schedule: http://ngtravelerseminars.com/. In the one I attended, there was a section for pitching ideas. If they heard something that sounded interesting then they pursued it. They seek the kind of imagery that tells a story. It's not the stuff you can buy in a postcard store. So travel and bring your camera. Look for the unique, rare, or surprising and which conveys an emotion or evokes one in the viewer. Build up your experience. Hone your skills. Be self-critical. A good photographer can get a winning shot with a 3 megapixel camera, while a hack will still get junk from an $8,000 DSLR.

How expensive is it to travel in TAHITI or Moorea?

Author: admin  /  Category: Tahiti

When I was a kid I went to Tahiti and remember it being ridiculously expensive. Is there a way to go there on a student budget and still have a great time? Are there other islands of equal beauty that are more inexpensive? Whats the current exchange rate?

Hi, how are you?

I don't have experience with traveling, but I did look up the exchange rate information (see below). I thought about traveling once but found it was ridiculously expensive. My brother then, got a job that involved a lot of travel. He didn't have a family at the time, and he said it was great to visit all kinds of new places. Maybe you could find something like that?

he unit of currency in French Polynesia is the French Pacific Franc (XPF), divided into 100 centimes. The exchange rate is fairly stable as it is linked to the Euro. Banks throughout the islands are open mainly on weekdays only and are the best place to change foreign currency; rates of exchange are not as good at hotels. There are ATMs on a few of the islands, but shouldn't be relied upon. Most hotels and resorts will exchange travellers cheques in US$ or Euros, and credit cards and US currency is readily accepted on the main islands. Tourism taxes are levied for accommodation and activities.

Currency Exchange Rates
XPF 1.00 = US$ 0.01 £ 0.01 C$ 0.01 A$ 0.01 R 0.08 € 0.01 NZ$ 0.02
